2018 Nieman Journalism Awards Ceremony

During a ceremony at Walter Lippmann House on May 3, 2018, the Nieman Foundation honored several investigative journalists and their work by presenting three of the foundation’s annual journalism awards: The I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence, The Taylor Award for Fairness in Journalism, The Worth Bingham Prize for Investigative Journalism. Read more

In recognition of her groundbreaking and persistent investigative reporting on human rights abuses in Russia while enduring threats from powerful figures, Nieman Fellows in the class of 2018 at Harvard University have selected Elena Milashina for the Louis M. Photojournalist Lynsey Addario delivered the 36th Joe Alex Morris Jr. Memorial Lecture at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism on Jan. 18, 2018. Presentation of the 2016 Taylor Family Award and 2017 I.F. Stone Medal

The Nieman Foundation presented the 2016 Taylor Family Award for Fairness in Journalism and the 2017 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence on April 26, 2017. The Oregonian/OregonLive won the Taylor Award for "Toxic Armories." Victor S. Navasky was awarded the I.F. Stone Medal in recognition of a career dedicated to journalistic integrity and for his work speaking truth to power. Read more

Covering Housing: A Workshop for Journalists

March 16-18, 2017, the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard hosted an intensive training workshop for journalists on covering housing and related issues. Our goal was to bring together a diverse group of reporters, academics, researchers and practitioners in order to help journalists deepen their reporting skills and expand their thinking around housing issues and how they intersect with all beats.
