Her past books include "Madness Visible: A Memoir of War," published by Knopf and "The Place at the End of the World: Stories From the Frontline," published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom. She has reported on numerous wars and conflicts and has won two Amnesty International awards, the National Magazine Award, and been named Britain’s Foreign Correspondent of the Year.
