David D. Perlmutter, dean and professor for the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University, was previously a professor and associate dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. He is the author of “Picturing China in the American Press: The Visual Portrayal of Sino-American Relations in Time Magazine, 1949-1973.”
