Marites Dañguilan Vitug, a 1987 Nieman Fellow, is editor at large of Rappler and author of several books on Philippine current affairs, including “Shadow of Doubt: Probing the Supreme Court.” She also is chairwoman of the advisory board of Newsbreak, the independent magazine where she was editor in chief for almost 10 years.
