<a href="https://journalism.uoregon.edu/user/smaier/">Scott R. Maier</a> is an associate professor at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. He worked for nearly 20 years as a newspaper and wire service reporter in Seattle, where he acknowledges having made more than his share of errors requiring correction.
