Jose Miguel Calatayud is an award-winning freelance journalist based in Berlin and focusing on cross-border investigations, and a project director at Arena for Journalism in Europe. As a journalist, he has previously been based in East Africa, Turkey, and Spain, has reported from more than 20 countries, and his work has appeared in Foreign Policy, the New Statesman, El País, Deutsche Welle, and Radio France Internationale, among others.
