Gary Kebbel is the former journalism initiatives program officer at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. He was news director at America Online and helped create USAToday.com and Newsweek.com. He now is a professor at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
