Veteran journalist Debra Adams Simmons is a contributing editor and media consultant for several news organizations and foundations. Her current work includes identifying scalable journalism innovations for news investors. She previously served as vice president of news development at Advance Local, the parent company of a group of metro news organizations, where she worked to develop new audiences, staff, and content. She formerly was editor and managing editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland and the Akron Beacon Journal. She is a past president of the Associated Press Media Editors Association.
