<a href="http://www.hrw.org/en/bios/carroll-bogert">Carroll Bogert</a> is the deputy executive director of <a href="http://www.hrw.org/">Human Rights Watch</a> for external relations. Before joining the staff in 1998, she worked for 12 years as a foreign correspondent at Newsweek.
