This special issue of Nieman Reports has been created to report to the readers of Nieman Reports, to members of the Committee of Concerned Journalists, and to newspaper and broadcast communities on two recent reports, as well as to share relevant insights from other Committee members. The record of the Committee’s forums and much of the material produced by special studies and surveys are available on the Committee’s Web site. In addition, results of three other targeted studies the Committee did to evaluate press performance during the Clinton-Lewinsky affair have been published by the Century Foundation in a book called “Warp Speed: America in the Age of Mixed Media,” co-authored by Tom Rosenstiel, Vice Chairman of the Committee, and Bill Kovach.
