Thomas French has spent a quarter century exploring the possibilities of journalistic storytelling. For twenty-seven years, he worked at the St. Petersburg Times and now teaches at Indiana University School of Journalism. In 1998, he won the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing, and his most recent project, chronicling life and death inside Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, will be the subject of his next book. French is a writing fellow at Poynter Institute, teaches nonfiction at Goucher College, and has led workshops in the U.S. and abroad.
