Jineth Bedoya Lima

Jineth Bedoya Lima is a reporter with El Espectador in Bogotá. Jineth Bedoya Lima was kidnapped and tortured by paramilitary forces in Colombia in 2000. At the time she was a reporter with El Espectador in Bogotà. She was awarded the Courage In Journalism Award from the International Women’s Media Foundation in 2001. In 2003 as a reporter for El Tiempo she was kidnapped a second time but was soon freed. In 2012 she received the International Women of Courage Award.
