Adam Tanner, a 2012 Nieman fellow, is a columnist at Forbes and the author of a book, “What Stays in Vegas: The World of Personal Data – Lifeblood of Big Business – and the End of Privacy as We Know It.” From 1996 to 2011, he worked for Reuters as a bureau chief in the Balkans and in San Francisco and as a reporter in Moscow, Berlin, and Washington D.C.
